(More customer reviews)I am a grad student on a budget and I needed a floor lamp.But I am also interested in style and want to create a "home," my home.I bought this lamp not really expecting anything fabulous for the price, but it is actually very charming!

With the mica lamp shade, it gives a soft, soothing-to-the-mind amber glow to the room.For studying, I guess it wasn't the very best choice, but I love it.The stand has a cheap "antiqued bronze" finish (which really doesn't look so very cheap unless you get up close and stare at it), that is surprisingly heavy and solid and matches my décor of cream and black with accents of indigo and cranberry, but this lamp will match any color scheme.

It was fairly easy to assemble, even for a klutz like me.But, oh yeah, I bought one three-way light bulb whose low mode pooped out after two weeks.I would recommend buying a half a dozen light bulbs to go with it -- I wish that I had done so.

(More customer reviews)I was supposed to be getting this lamp on March 4 - 8th of this year, but got is yesterday!!The lamp is a snap to put together and gives off a lovely bright glow.I had it put together in about 10 minutes.For some reason I thought that the light the lamp would be giving off would be more amber, judging by the photo but the inserts that go around the bulbs are whiter and give off more of a frosted glass look.My only wish would have been that this lamp had been taller, but its still a great lamp

(More customer reviews)This lamp is excellent. Very bright and it actually does make it easier to see colors more accurately. I use this lamp to do a lot of beading, and I work with tiny seed beads, so this sucker is a life saver. I also love the goose neck because I'm constantly needing to change the direction of the light as I work on more complicated pieces. I did not however pay $59.00 for it. I got mine on sale for about $18.00 at Menards, so shop around for a better price on it. Only drawback is the replacement bulbs will cost you around $8.00, but I've had mine almost 2 years and havent had to replace it yet. I'd recommend this lamp to anyone who does a lot of beading, needle point, or crafts that require you to really be able to see the detail in your work. Even if you just need better lighting to read with, this will do the job. Awesome lamp, I recommend it, especially for crafters.
