(More customer reviews)This is an absolutely fabulous lamp for the price!It has a heavy base so it is very stable.Both the torchiere lamp and reading lamp are on swivels so they adjust through a wide range of angles.Thus, this lamp provides both general lighting and task lighting.The frosted glass shades are good quality and diffuse the light beautifully.The assembled lamp looks like a much more expensive one.
The lamp was very simple to assemble.All that is involved is screwing pieces of the stem together and attaching the shades.(And inserting the light bulbs, which are not included, of course.)I was amused to notice, however, that the very obvious screwing together of the stem pieces was fully covered in the included instruction sheet, but the less obvious mechanism to attach the shades was completely missing from the instructions.Basically, I was momentarily confused because I thought the pieces that hold the shades on were missing, but I eventually discovered that they had been screwed onto the lamp bases for shipping.One little note in the instructions that gave a hint to look there instead of somewhere within the plastic and Styrofoam packaging would have saved me about 10 minutes of looking.
With that one (very) small complaint, I can say that I liked this lamp in my home office so much, I am planning to buy another one for my living room.
